World Trade Center elevator pulley dedicated at VNG 9/11 remembrance ceremony

RICHMOND, Va. - Virginia National Guard Soldiers, Airmen and guests mark the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks with a remembrance ceremony Sept. 11, 2021, at the VNG Sergeant Bob Slaughter Headquarters at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, retired Col. Todd Combee, former Virginia National Guard state chaplain, and retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 Al Barnes, the VNG command historian, provided remarks during the ceremony. The event also featured the dedication of a World Trade Center service elevator pulley, which will remain on permanent display at the headquarters as part of the VNG historical collection.
