VNG personnel staged, ready to assist with possible severe winter weather response

CEDAR BLUFF, Va. - Virginia National Guard Airmen assigned to the Virginia Beach-based 203rd Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers, 192nd Mission Support Group, 192nd Wing load up vehicles to prepare for possible winter weather response operations Jan. 6, 2022, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The VNG has about 20 Soldiers on duty in the Southwest Virginia area and ready to respond, and about 20 Airmen mustered in the Virginia Beach area and began movement into the Northern Virginia area Thursday afternoon. Both groups are equipped with chain saws to conduct debris reduction operations to clear fallen trees to open blocked roads, and they will travel in heavy duty trucks capable of navigating through heavy snow.
