WHO MAY APPLY: Open to all AGR/Military Technician/Traditional/ Air Guard or Active Duty Soldiers of any Armed Forces in the grades of E-6/SSG through E-7/SFC who are members of any National Guard or eligible to become members of the Virginia Army National Guard.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet all selection criteria IAW AR 40-501, AR 670-1, AR 135-18, AR 600-8-2, AR 600-8-22, AR 600-60, NGR 600-5, NGR 600-200, and NGR 601-1.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Info Systems Operator will ensure that all IT and communications equipment is working properly for the unit in garrison and during deployments. Sets up the communications and digital network required by the commander and as directed by the Communications Team Chief. Ensures there is uninterrupted communication for all members of the CST. Is responsible for ensuring our reach back capabilities remain intact. Must be able to effectively trouble shoot IT and communications issues both software and hardware to ensure the team connectivity. Manages CST computer systems and disseminates classified information over digital network. Ensures communications supplies and equipment are available and well stocked. Acts as the frequency manager for the CST and ensures that the command can communicate with any and all resources as needed on site.

SPECIAL INFORMATION
• Information Technology Sergeant (25B) must possess the following qualifications:
(1) A physical demands rating of Moderate (Gold).
(2) A physical profile of 212221.
(3) Normal color vision.
(a) A minimum score of 100 in aptitude area ST on Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) tests administered prior to 02 January 2002. (b) A minimum score of 96 in aptitude area ST on ASVAB tests administered on and after 02 January 2002 and prior to 01 July 2004.
(c) A minimum score of 95 in aptitude area ST on ASVAB tests administered on and after 01 July 2004.
• Preferred experience with Chemical unit assignments but not required • Must successfully complete the 8-week Civil Support Skills Course and all Basic-level individual Training Requirements IAW NGR 500-3/ANGI 10-2053 within 12 months of hiring.
• Must complete Department of Defense/IFSAC Hazardous Materials Technician certification and maintain annual proficiency as a HAZMAT Technician while serving on the CST. 
• Must maintain all individual training and certification requirements as prescribed in the CST Garrison Standard Operating Guidelines including but not limited to: annual Combat Lifesaver Certification, CPR/BLS Certification, training and certification as a Confined Space Rescue Technician, and Structural Collapse Rescue Technician.
• All personnel assigned to the CST must complete training in the Incident Command System (minimum of ICS-100, ICS-200, IS-700, and IS-800b).
• Must be CBRNE Responder (SQI of “R”) qualified within 12 months of start date.
• Must meet any Special Requirements as specified on the CST Position Description.
• CST Members are required to maintain 24/7 availability to respond to a no-notice alert IAW state and national response requirements.
• Must relocate within 60 miles of Fort Pickett, Blackstone, VA; PCS is authorized.
• This assignment requires extensive travel for training and response operations.
• Applicant must be able to obtain a government travel card.
• Applicant must present a professional and military appearance at all times.
• Applicant must meet OSHA standards for wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including respiratory screening. • Period of initial assignment is no less than 3 years from the date of award of SQI R.
• Soldiers in the grades of E6/SSG or above must be MOS qualified prior to start date.
• The start date is contingent on availability of funding from NGB.

7. Documentation to support all periods of duty/service creditable for retirement. Any of the following may be used DD Form 214, DA Form 1506 or NGB Forms 23A/23B.
