The Virginia National Guard State Family Program serves as an advocate and conduit to ensure Military Quality of Life for all National Guard Members and their Families. The State Family Programs Office strives to establish a viable Family Readiness Network in collaboration with community partnerships that empowers Military Families while enhancing Quality of Life and building resiliency.

  • Military One Source: Education Consultants can assist you with questions about your child’s education. These one-on-one sessions are free, confidential and can provide you with referrals to in-home tutors and tutoring centers in your area as well as public and private school information. More than 30 Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers and their spouses attend a retirement briefing hosted by the VaARNG Retirement Services Office May 4, 2024, at the State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In addition to representatives from the VaARNG G1 office, Reserve Component Transition Assistance Advisors and personnel from Virginia Department of Veterans Services, TRICARE and Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve provided information and assistance to the future retirees. Col. Beau Mason, Virginia National Guard deputy chief of staff for personnel, thanked the Soldiers and their spouses for their service and encouraged them to take advantage of all the resources available to them. More than 30 Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers and their spouses attended a retirement briefing hosted by the VaARNG Retirement Services Office May 4, 2024, at the State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Parents, kids and volunteers from the Virginia National Guard Youth Program come together to explore the Science Museum of Virginia at a Month of the Military Child kickoff event 
April 6, 2024. In addition to exploring the museum, participants practiced problem solving skills, participated in a scavenger hunt and watched an educational dome show.
Youth Program celebrates Month of the Military Child, prepares for summer youth camp

April is Month of the Military Child and the Virginia National Guard Youth Program hosted a MOMC kickoff event April 6, 2024, at the Science Museum of Virginia, in order to celebrate and recognize military youth.

Children of Virginia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen enjoy a variety of activities at the 18th annual Virginia National Guard Youth Camp July 26, 2023, at the State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The camp is scheduled to run from July 23-28 and features educational activities, team building exercises, displays from National Guard units and local first responders, a flag retirement ceremony, an afternoon at the beach and trips to the Virginia Aquarium and Nauticus. 60 campers enjoy 18th annual Virginia National Guard Youth Camp

Children of Virginia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen enjoyed a variety of activities at the 18th annual Virginia National Guard Youth Camp July 23-28, 2023, at the State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The camp featured educational activities, team building exercises, displays from National Guard units and local first responders, a flag retirement ceremony, an afternoon at the beach and trips to the Virginia Aquarium and Nauticus.

Members of the Virginia National Guard State Teen Panel come together for their fifth meeting of the season and to celebrate Month of the Military Child April 15, 2023, at an outdoor adventure park in Williamsburg, Virginia. STP members act as the voice of all National Guard teens and youth throughout the state of Virginia and members gain valuable training in resilience, leadership, communication, and group facilitation.
