2-224th Aviation crews conduct aerial gunnery in N.C.

Atlantic, North Carolina - Crew chiefs from the Sandston-based 2nd Battalion, 224th Aviation Regiment, 29th Infantry Division conduct aerial door gunnery qualification from their UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters April 4, 2019, at Marine Corps Outlying Field Atlantic in Atlantic, North Carolina. Soldiers were required to conduct training in daylight, and while wearing their gas mask, and at night while wearing night vision goggles. Approximately 50 Soldiers and five Black Hawks took part in the four-day event which provided a valuable training opportunity, not only for the crew chiefs, but also for pilots and support personnel of the battalion.
