Funeral Honors Program hosts training for active-duty Soldiers

Virginia Beach, Virginia - Sgt. 1st Class Jonathon McGlone, the lead funeral honors trainer for the Maryland National Guard, demonstrates the proper folding of an American flag to active-duty Soldiers assigned to the Fort Eustis-based 7th Transportation Brigade April 21, 2021, at the State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach, Virginia. McGlone and four Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers provided the five-day basic funeral honors training, which covered proper handling of the casket as pall bearers and properly folding and presenting the U.S. flag to the veteran’s next of kin.
