New historic artifacts in place at VNG headquarters

RICHMOND, Va. - Virginia National Guard Soldiers and civilian employees of the Fort Pickett-based Maneuver Area Training Equipment Site offload a World War II-era M4A3E8 Sherman tank July 16, 2021, at the VNG Sergeant Bob Slaughter Headquarters at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The Soldiers transported the Sherman from MATES, where it was restored and preserved for permanent historical display at the headquarters. After positioning the tank, Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, thanked the MATES crew for their hard work.
