VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - Maj. Gen. James W. Ring, the Adjutant General of Virginia, visits Virginia National Guard troops assigned to the Virginia Army National Guard’s Recruiting and Retention Battalion’s Recruit Sustainment Program Site #9 June 25, 2023, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Ring promoted the VNG’s Referral Enlistment Program, which offers up to $1,000 for referrals leading to VNG enlistments, shared his insights on military service, and answered questions from the Soldiers. The RSP focuses on getting recruits administratively, physically and mentally prepared for the rigors of Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training. The program also hosts cadets enrolled in the VaARNG’s Simultaneous Membership Program where individuals participate in both the VNG and their university’s ROTC program.
