Virginia Guard sustainment battalion Soldiers return to Virginia after Afghanistan duty

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers from the Virginia Beach-based 529th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion arrive at Norfolk International Airport March 22 after having served on federal active duty in Afghanistan since May 2010. Instead of returning in a large single group, Soldiers returned to airports close to their home of record begining March 21 to be reunited with their families. In addition to Norfolk, groups of Soldiers returned to Newport News, Richmond, Roanoke, Lynchburg, and Raleigh-Durham through they day on March 22. (Photo by Sgt. 1st Class A.J.
