FORT BARFOOT, Va. - The Virginia National Guard’s Marksmanship Training Unit names the top shooters of their inaugural ROTC Pistol Championship, held Sept. 30, 2023, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. The two-person team from Virginia Tech was named the champions, while teams from the Virginia Military Institute took the second and third place team spots. Col. Charles Reinhold, former deputy commander of the VNG’s 183rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute and longtime participant in VNG showing matches, was on hand to present the awards. Two shooters from VMI also nabbed the top spots as individuals, while a shooter from Liberty University took third. Col.
