DMA recognizes state employees during luncheon

FORT BARFOOT, Va. - Virginia Department of Military Affairs employees attend a DMA recognition and appreciation luncheon Dec. 5, 2023, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. During the event, select full-time state employees were recognized for service anniversaries, and part-time support employees were presented with certificates of recognition. Maj. Gen. James W. Ring, the Adjutant General of Virginia, gave remarks and presented retired Brig. Gen. Walt Mercer, the DMA Chief Operations Officer, with the Virginia Distinguished Service Medal for his service to DMA ahead of his retirement at the end of the month.
