Virginia’s search and extraction team proves capabilities during evaluation

FORT BARFOOT, Va - Visitors from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and the Joint Mortuary Affairs Center join leaders from the National Guard for a tour of a training site constructed by Virginia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen May 22, 2024, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia, in advance of a collective training exercise. The Soldiers and Airmen are assigned to the Richmond-based 34th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High-Yield Explosives Enhanced Response Force Package, or CERFP. The CERFP is capable of providing support to first responders and civil authorities after a chemical, biological or nuclear incident.
