VNG shifting resources to Southwest Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. - Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the 1033rd Engineer Company, 276th Engineer Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group train on chain saws and prepare vehicles for possible winter weather response operations Feb. 12, 2025, in Cedar Bluff, Virginia. Approximately 45 VNG Soldiers are staging in Southwest Virginia to provide debris reduction and transportation capabilities. Two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters equipped with rescue hoist capabilities are also staging in Southwest Virginia. All Soldiers are expected to be in place and ready to receive missions Feb. 13.
