VNG’s 116th IBCT field tests new mobile brigade combat team organization during XCTC rotation

FORT PICKETT, Va. - Virginia National Guard Soldiers with Fox Company, 429th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 111th Field Artillery, 116th IBCT receive supplies sling loaded by the New Jersey National Guard’s 1st Assault Helicopter Battalion, 150th Aviation Regiment June 13, 2025, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. Soldiers with Alpha Company, 429th BSB prepared the supplies for aerial delivery. The 116th is the first Army National Guard brigade to test a prototype task organization for a mobile brigade combat team, and it will be evaluated during a 21-day eXportable Combat Training Capability rotation.
