VIERVILLE-SUR-MER, France - U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Robert Black stands at the grave Pfc. Daniel W. Young, a cousin of Black’s grandfather, at the Normandy American Cemetery June 2, 2026, in Colleville-sur-Mer, France. Black discovered the family connection during his visit to the cemetery. Approximately 600 U.S. service members, including 30 assigned to the 29th Infantry Division, are in Normandy to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the D-Day landings.
