Course Title: MANEUVER TACTICS FOUNDATION

Course Scope: MTF course scope of instruction focuses on Army doctrine (ADRPs 1-02, 3-0, 3-90, and 5-0) and the foundations for tactical planning and execution. The course learning outcomes span eight subject areas: Unified Land Operations, Operational Graphics, Offensive Operations, Defensive Operations, Combat Orders, Troop Leading Procedures, and Indirect Fire Planning.
Course Outcomes:
1. Describe current combined arms maneuver doctrine to small-unit tactical operations.
2. Define the eight steps of Troop Leading Procedures.
3. Define mission, enemy, terrain and weather, troops and support available, time available, civil considerations (METT-TC) as it applies to small-unit tactics.
4. Brief a small-unit mission execution on a terrain model using the correct operational terms and graphics.
5. Describe the role of doctrine in the application of the art and science of tactics.
