1.This vacancy announcement is for the position of Command Sergeant Major.
a.Projected fill date: On or about 1 NOV 2023

c.Position MOS: 11Z6O, 101/03
d.Grade/Rank: E9/CSM2.

2. Eligibility Criteria:
a.Hold the rank of Master Sergeant with previous First Sergeant experience. Applicants must be listed on the current Sergeant Major OML, or currently an E-9.
b.Must be a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Course (USASMA) or make application to attend within 60 days after selection.
c.Security Clearance: Must possess a Secret clearance at time of application.
d.AGR Sergeants Major currently assigned in E9 positions within the JFHQ,TDA unit or higher headquarters in the chain of command are eligible to apply. AGR Sergeants Major and Military Technicians, if selected, will have to obtain a TAG approved Command Leadership Waiver before being assigned to the position. Any AGR application must also include a signed memorandum of understanding from the full time OIC.
e. A member, or eligible to become a member of the VAARNG. Any Soldier selected from outside VA must IST to VA upon selection.

a. Memorandum requesting consideration from Soldier applying with reason why the Soldier wants to be the 1-116th Command Sergeant Major.
b.APFT/ACFT results for the last three years (DA Form 705).
c.Height/ weight certificate (within the last thirty days) from immediate commander. DA Form 5500-R/5501-R, Body Fat worksheet with-in 30 days (if required).
d.MEDPROS printout reflecting Periodic Health Assessment is current.
e.Last five DA Forms 2166-8/ 2166-9-3 (NCOERS).
f.Verification of Security Clearance from the VaARNG State Security Manager.
g.A copy of the Soldier’s ERB/ SRB.
h.Biographical sketch per NGR 600-200, Figure G-3.
i.Most recent DA 1059 indicating highest military education completed.
j.Letter of recommendation from chain of command. (Optional)
