OCS Instructor

3D BN (MOD) 183rd Regiment (RTI)

1. This traditional announcement is for the position of OCS Instructor.
a. Projected fill date: 3-183D RTI will accept packets immediately, through 30 September 2024. 3-183D RTI will interview qualified applicants, place on an Order of Merit List, and directly coordinate with applicants’ units to fill vacancies, as they become available.
b. Unit: 3D BN (MOD) 183rd Regiment (RTI), Fort Barfoot, Blackstone, Virginia 23824
c. Female assignment eligibility: YES
d. Position Title: Instructor
e. Position MOS, Para/line: 01A00, 002H/04
f. Who May Apply: Traditional Soldiers in the grade 1LT/O2 or CPT/O3 who are members or are eligible to become members of the Virginia Army National Guard.
g. Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet the following criteria:
1) No questionable history or character traits, such as a financial irresponsibility, unusual foreign holding or interest, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, gambling, emotional instability, prior adverse action, requirement to register as a sexual offender, etc. Soldiers declared rehabilitation successes under the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) may apply. No exception is made for Soldiers with two convictions of driving while intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) during their military career.
2) Mature judgment and initiative.
3) Current Secret security clearance or higher.
4) Meet minimum reading and language levels to attend the requisite instructor course(s).
5) Ability to attend Platoon Trainer Qualification (TAC), Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFDIC) and Maneuver Tactics Foundation Course (MTFC).
6) Display good military bearing.
7) Meet body composition requirements IAW AR 600-9.
8) Pass the ACFT/Current DA 705 with history of passing the APFT.
9) BOLC graduate.
10) Demonstrated ability to be an instructor.
11) No speech impediment.
h. This is a broadening assignment for approximately 36-48 months. At the end of this assignment, G1 will prioritize Soldier reassignment to a MTOE unit.
2. Interested applicants submit the following documents:
a. Memorandum from the Soldier requesting consideration and affirming the Soldier has notified their chain of command.
b. Command endorsement (optional).
c. Last 3 years APFT/ACFT history on DA 705, RCAS or DTMS printout.
d. DA Form 5500/5501, DTMS HT/WT history printout or HT/WT statement.
e. All DA Form 3349 (Physical Profile).
f. MEDPROS printout indicating Periodic Health Assessment is current.
g. Copies of last three consecutive OERs and all DA Form 1059s.
h. Security Clearance verification memo.
i. Current Certified or Validated copy ORB.
j. Biographical summary.
k. HRR 600 (Encl).
l. Additional information for consideration (e.g., Letters of Recommendation, awards, certificates, degrees, etc.).
