WHO M AY APPLY: Open to current on-board AGR Soldiers within grades E-5 / SGT through E-6 / SSG who are members of any Army National Guard or can meet the prerequisites to become members of the Virginia Army National Guard. SGT / E5 must be a graduate of the Basic Leader Course (BLC) and meet time in grade (TIG) requirements to advance to the next rank to apply for this position. Must be 74D qualified and hold the R1 identifier.
SPECIAL INFORMATION
• To apply Service Member must have already successfully completed the 8-week Civil Support Skills Course (CSSC) and have the SQI of R1 and all Basic-level Individual Training Requirements IAW NGR 500-3/ANGI 10-2053 and NGB WMD-CST Specialized Training Requirements TY 2024 for year 2 compliance.
• Must not be within six (6) months of mandatory removal or Expiration Term of Service (ETS).
• Mandatory Stabilization period is 3 years from order start date.
• CST Members are required to maintain 24/7/365 availability to respond to a no- notice alert IAW state and national response requirements.
• Applicant must complete an OSHA physical and meet OSHA standards for wearing personal protective equipment (including respiratory screening).
• Applicant must complete a CNGB 3501.00 compliant Pre-placement physical examination within 30 days of placement on the WMD-CST.
• A physical profile of 122221.
• Must relocate and reside within 60 miles of Fort Barfoot, Blackstone, VA; PCS is authorized.
• Must not be colorblind or claustrophobic.
• Must possess state driver's license and be able to be qualified to operate military vehicles which are organic to the unit.
• This assignment requires extensive travel for training and response operations.
• Applicant must possess or be able to possess a SECRET clearance and maintain an active government travel card.
• Must meet any special requirements as specified on the CST Position Description.
• Must have a passing ACFT and Height & Weight within 6 months of the submission of your application. Soldier selected for this position who do not meet the above mentioned ACFT and Height & Weight requirement will need to complete an ACFT and Height & Weight prior to receiving a start date.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet all selection criteria IAW AR 40-501, AR 135-18, AR 600-8-2, AR 600-60, NGR 500-3, NGR 600-5, NGR 600-200, and NGR 601-1.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees preventative maintenance and service for assigned equipment. Conducts pre-deployment checks to ensure team readiness. Participates in the state-of-the-art detection and sample collection technology training per the Survey Team training. Expected to be proficient in NBC antidote administration, safe patient extraction, and crime scene/evidence preservation techniques. Participates in/monitors WMD (CST) chain–of custody (sample transfer) procedures. Follows the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Guide when responding to incidents utilizing the appropriate respiratory protection. Utilizes the established checklist and code words in reporting the detection, identification and sample collection actions in the Hot Zone/contaminated area. Maps out the physical layout of the incident site. Attends designated agency domestic terrorism threat briefings. Directs/assists team area set-up and ensures entry team pre checks are complete. Coordinates specific mission requirements with CBRN NCOIC and conducts sampling kit preparation. Ensures all members of their team receive pre/post entry medical checks. Identify and inform additional mission equipment needs to CBRN NCOIC and supervise monitoring, detection and sampling equipment deployment and operation. Performs CBRN NCOIC duties in the absence of the CBRN NCOIC Performs other duties as assigned.
