WHO MAY APPLY: Open to all AGR/Military Technician/Traditional/ Active Duty Army personnel in grade of O5/LTC – O6/COL who are members of the Virginia or Maryland Army National Guard.
SPECIAL INFORMATION
• This is a nominative position for a One-Time Occasional Tour (OTOT).
• Military Education: As required by the appropriate grade. Preferred Officer will have completed or have been enrolled in Senior Service College.
• Civilian Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred but not required.
• Security Clearance: Secret required. Top secret preferred but not required.
• Experience: Previous Combat Arms Battalion Command required; Brigade Command, Brigade level/major subordinate command officer in charge and or Brigade and Division staff level assignment preferred but not required.
• Applicants must have less than 15 Active Federal Service (AFS) unless a member of the Virginia Army National Guard AGR program. Applicants may not reach sanctuary during this tour.
• Consecutive OTOT are not authorized.

• Must have a passing ACFT and Height & Weight within 6 months of the submission of your application. Soldier selected for this position who do not meet the above mentioned ACFT and Height & Weight requirement will need to complete an ACFT and Height & Weight prior to receiving a start date.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet all selection criteria IAW AR 40-501, AR 135-18, AR 600-8-2, AR 600-60, NGR 600-5, NGR 600-200, and NGR 601-1.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Chief of Staff for the 29th Infantry Division, an Army National Guard Division headquarters comprised of 700 Soldiers from the Army National Guard of Virginia and Maryland. In support of the Commanding General, responsible for the safety, training, morale, discipline and welfare of all assigned Soldiers and equipment. Directly responsible for the integration and synchronization of the division's warfighting functions. Directly supervises the main command post, including protection, communication, and security. Ensures the staff members coordinate their activities within the division as well as with headquarters, subordinate and adjacent units. Frees the commander from routine details of staff operations, pass pertinent data, information, and insight from the staff to the commander, and conversely provides commander's vision and guidance to the staff.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Position requires a “SECRET” security clearance. Must be able to obtain as a minimum, an “interim” clearance prior to appointment to the position. Soldiers with a prior revoked or denied clearance are not eligible for either an interim or a waiver and should not apply. If tentatively selected for a position and soldier cannot be granted an interim clearance prior to appointment to the position, the offer for the position maybe revoked, Non-USA citizens are not eligible for a security clearance per DOD 5200.2R.

5. Last 3 years of DTMS APFT history or DA Form 705 cards and DTMS HT/WT
history printout or DA Form 5500/5501 (include all DA Forms 3349 if applicable). IPPS-A screen shots of APFT and HT/WT information are authorized.
6. Documentation to support all periods of duty/service creditable for retirement. Any ofthe following may be used DD Form 214, DA Form 1506 or NGB Forms 23A/23B.
7. Any additional information the applicant may wish to submit for consideration (i.e.,Letters of Recommendation, awards, certificates, degrees, etc.).
