Officers in the grades of W4/CW4 that are eligible to be promoted who are members
of the Virginia Army National Guard.

• Applicant must possess or be able to possess a SECRET clearance and maintain an active government travel card.
• Must have a passing ACFT and Height & Weight within 6 months of the submission of your application.

• Must be a graduate of the Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course and be eligible to be promoted to CW5.
• Must possess a minimum 4 years TIG as a CW4.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet all selection criteria IAW AR 40-501, AR 135-18, AR 600-8-2, AR 600-60, NGR 600-5, NGR 600-200, and NGR 601-1.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is located with the Assistant Adjutant General-Army (AAG-A) Command Group of Joint Force Headquarters-VA. As a member of the JFHQ Command team. Serves on the personal staff of the AAG-A. Serves as the Command Chief Warrant Officer / Senior Warrant Officer Advisor managing the professional military aspects of all full-time and Traditional VAARNG Warrant Officers of all ranks. As the Warrant Officer (WO) Professional manager for the state, the incumbent serves as the primary advisor and spokesperson regarding all issues related to the establishment and enforcement of policies and standards for all Warrant Officers. Areas of emphasis include military read-iness, performance, education, military bearing and discipline, awards and recognition, and training of all VAARNG Warrant Officers. Assists with ensuring effective utilization of all VAARNG Warrant Officers. Responsible for ensuring VAARNG Warrant Officers comply with the state’s Warrant Officer Program goals and objectives; regularly inter-acts with Warrant Officer leaders and commissioned officers of other DoD components; participates in a variety DoD, Federal, and state level advisory councils. Advises the AAG-A and TAG on all Warrant Officer issues. Responsible for managing VAARNG Warrant Officer recruiting efforts, ensuring equal opportunity principles are followed, appropriate promotion opportunities are utilized, and assignment decisions are made. Conducts studies to develop plans and programs designed to develop and maintain high Warrant Officer esprit de corps and morale; counsels Warrant Officers on their professional development and career management. Develops, implements, and pro-vides guidance for planning, publicizing, and administering Warrant Officer awards and recognition programs. Analyzes the impacts on the Warrant Officer Corps of higher HQ directives, regulations, and policies. Provides counsel to TAG, AAG-A, Director of the Joint Staff, and Chief of Staff on all inquiries concerning operations, administration, policy, affecting Warrant Officers. Performs frequent visits to Warrant Officers in the field in order to observe Warrant Officer utilization in units and activities throughout the organization. Evaluates the administration of all programs pertaining to and affecting Warrant Officers. Conducts frequent year-round Warrant Officer advisory meetings with other senior Warrant Officers to disseminate information and guidance, and to gather feedback from the field. Promotes programs that save time, material, and funds, in which Warrant Offices can participate.

6. Last 3 years of DTMS ACFT history or DA Form 705 cards and DTMS HT/WT history printout or DA Form 5500/5501 (include all DA Forms 3349 if applicable).
7. Documentation to support all periods of duty/service creditable for retirement. Any of the following may be used DD Form 214, DA Form 1506 or NGB Forms 23A/23B.
