POSITION TITLE: Plans Officer (CG Aide-de-Camp)
GRADE: O3/ CPT
BRANCH: 02A, Immaterial
LOCATION: Fort Belvoir, VA
UNIT: HSC, 29th Infantry Division
WHO MAY APPLY: Open to all AGR/Military Technician/Traditional/Active Duty Officers of any Armed
Forces in the grades of O2/1LT - O3/CPT who are able to meet the requirements to become members of
the Virginia Army National Guard.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet all selection criteria IAW NGR 601-1, NGR 600-200, NGR
600-5, AR 600-60, AR 600-8-2, AR 40-501 and AR 135-18.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Plans Officer is responsible for the development, analysis, synchronization and integration of
operational and strategic plans to support mission objectives. This officer ensures all planning is aligned
with the commander’s intent and higher headquarters directives.
The Aide-de-Camp serves at the direction of the Commanding General providing all necessary support to
assist the Commanding General in completion of daily tasks. The Aide-de-Camp plans, coordinates and
executes travel arrangements and itineraries, speaking engagements, and other events as needed for
the Commanding General and other Senior Leaders of the Division Command Team. The Aide also
completes all read-ahead materials including biographies, talking points, travel documents, and
schedules for the Commanding General. Must be able to write effectively and provide input into written
products produced from the Office of the Commanding General. Consolidates meeting notes and task
requirements into single source documents for the Commanding General. Must be able to travel as
needed with the Commanding General, with overnight trips as required. Experience in working with
orders processing, travel authorizations and vouchers, personnel records, and awards processing
through IPPS-A, DAMPS and DTS. Completes additional duties as assigned.

SPECIAL INFORMATION
• Applicant must be able to reach 20 years Active Federal Service (AFS) before the Mandatory
Removal Date (MRD).
• Applicant must possess or be able to possess a SECRET clearance
• Applicant must possess and maintain an active government travel card.
• Must have a passing ACFT and Height & Weight within 6 months of the submission of your
application.
• Incomplete applications submitted for this vacancy announcement will not be considered.

• The start date is contingent on availability of funding from NGB.
• Individuals must not be under Suspension of Favorable Personnel Actions (Flag).
• Completion of Company Command and Battalion Staff time is preferred but not required.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Position requires a “SECRET” security clearance. Must be able to obtain as
a minimum, an “interim” clearance prior to appointment to the position. Soldiers with a prior revoked or
denied clearance are not eligible for either an interim or a waiver and should not apply. If tentatively
selected for a position and soldier cannot be granted an interim clearance prior to appointment to the
position, the offer for the position maybe revoked, Non-USA citizens are not eligible for a security
clearance per DOD 5200.2R.
