WHO MAY APPLY: Open to all AGR/Military Technician/Traditional/Active Duty Officers of any
Armed Forces in the grades of O1/2LT - O3/CPT who are able to meet the requirements to
become members of the Virginia Army National Guard.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet all selection criteria IAW NGR 601-1, NGR 600-
200, NGR 600-5, AR 600-60, AR 600-8-2, AR 40-501 and AR 135-18.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Brigade plans officers responsible for writing warning, operations and fragmentary orders during
the orders production process. Synchronizes force modernization upgrades for new equipment
training and fielding. Maintains short-range and long-range planning calendars to synchronize
operations of subordinate units. Facilitates the allocation of training resources, including
ammunition for training, ranges and facilities. Serves as the primary Knowledge Management
officer for the brigade. Develops and monitor the unit’s collaboration site and knowledge
networks to determine appropriate content and eliminate redundancy. Facilitates weekly,
monthly, quarterly and annual synchronization meetings. Other duties as assigned. Will perform
additional duties as assign
SPECIAL INFORMATION
• Applicant must be able to reach 20 years Active Federal Service (AFS) before the Mandatory Removal
Date (MRD).
• Applicant must possess or be able to possess a SECRET clearance
• Applicant must possess and maintain an active government travel card.
• Must have a passing ACFT and Height & Weight within 6 months of the submission of your
application.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Position requires a “SECRET” security clearance. Must be able to obtain as a minimum, an “interim” clearance prior to appointment to the position. Soldiers with a prior revoked or denied clearance are not eligible for either an interim or a waiver and should not apply. If tentatively selected for a position and soldier cannot be granted an interim clearance prior to appointment to the position, the offer for the position maybe revoked, Non-USA citizens are not eligible for a security clearance per DOD 5200.2R.
