Master Sergeant/ Chief Instructor

3rd BN (MOD) 183D RGT Regiment (RTI), Fort Barfoot

1.This traditional announcement is for the position of Master Sergeant/ Chief Instructor.
2.183D RGT will interview qualified applicants, place on an Order of Merit List, and directly coordinate with applicants' unit to fill the vacancy.
a.Projected fill date: o/a 01 Aug 2025. 183D RGT will coordinate with selected NCO's unit for transfer.

c.Position Title, Position MOS, Position Number, Para/line: Chief Instructor,00F58, 03178549, 002/02.
d.Who May Apply: Traditional Soldiers in the grade of SFC/E7 or MSG/ES who aremembers or are eligible to become members of the Virginia Army National Guard.
e.Eligibility Criteria:
(1)Soldiers holding the rank of SFC/E7 must be on the current promotion list.Accepted SFC/E7 Soldiers complete Senior Leader Course, and the training requirements for SQI "8" prior to promotion.
(2)SFC/E7 Soldiers applying by way of In-service Recruit, Inter-state transfer orPrior Service, are not required to be on Virginia’s current promotion list but must provide proof of being on current states promotion list. SLC completion is required.
(3)Soldier MUST be a qualified 11B, 11C, or 88M that has served in aleadership position.
(4)High school graduate or possess the GED equivalent.
(5) Mature judgment and initiative.
(6) 3 years' time remaining in-service upon arrival at assignment.
(7) Current Secret security clearance or higher.
(8) Meet minimum reading and language levels to attend the instructor course.
(9) Display good military bearing.
(10) Meet the body composition requirements in AR 600-9.
(11) Pass the ACFT and DA 705 with history of passing the APFT.
(12) Fully MOSQ with at least one (1) year experience in the MOS.
(13) Recent leadership assignment of at least one (1) year.
(14) Demonstrated ability to be an instructor.
(15) No speech impediment.
(16) Soldier may not have questionable history or character traits, such as a financial irresponsibility, unusual foreign holding or interest, substance abuse, emotional instability, prior adverse action, requirement to register as a sexual offender, etc. Soldiers declared rehabilitation successes under the ASAP may apply. No exception is made for a Soldier with two convictions of driving while intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) during their military career.
f. This is a broadening assignment for approximately 36-48 months. At the conclusion of the assignment, G1 will prioritize Soldier reassignment to a MTOE unit.
3. Interested applicants must submit the following documents:
a. Memorandum from the Soldier requesting consideration and affirming the Soldier has notified their chain of command.
b. Command endorsement (optional).
c. Last 3 years APFT/ACFT history on DA 705, RCAS or DTMS printout.
d. Current DA Form 5500/5501, DTMS HT/WT history printout or HT/WT statement within 6 months.
d. All DA Form 3349 (Physical Profile).
e. MEDPROS printout indicating Periodic Health Assessment is current.
f. Copies of last five consecutive NCOERs and all DA Form 1059s.
g. Security Clearance verification memo.
h. Current Certified or Validated copy ERB/SRB.
i. HRR 600 (Encl).
j. Additional information for consideration (e.g., Letters of Recommendation, awards, certificates, degrees, etc.).
