WHO MAY APPLY: Open to all AGR/Military Technician/Traditional Soldiers in
grades W2/CW2 through W3/CW3 who are members of the Virginia Army National
Guard.
SPECIAL INFORMATION
• Applicants must be eligible to complete 20 years of Active Federal Service before their
MRD or Age 60.
• Incomplete applications submitted for this vacancy announcement will not be
considered. Applicants are responsible for maintaining current information on their

• Applicant must possess or be able to possess a secret clearance and maintain
government travel card.
• The start date is contingent on availability of funding from NGB.
• Must have a passing ACFT/AFT and Height & Weight within 6 months of the
submission of your application. Soldier selected for this position who do not meet the
above mentioned ACFT/AFT and Height & Weight requirement will need to complete
an ACFT and Height & Weight prior to receiving a start date.
• Individuals must not be under Suspension of Favorable Personnel Actions
(Flag).
• Must not be within six (6) months of mandatory removal or Expiration Term of
Service (ETS).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet all selection criteria IAW AR 40-501, AR 135-18, AR 600-8-2, AR 600-60, NGR 600-5, NGR 600-200, and NGR 601-1.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as the OIC of the RRB S1, directly supervising the daily operations of all administrative and human resources functions. Responsible for planning, managing, executing, and serving as the overall technical expert on all personnel actions including: hiring packets, AGR tour management, position control, evaluations, awards, promotions, separations, suitability, and medical readiness. Serves as the primary advisor to the RRB Commander on all personnel readiness matters affecting mission capability. Coordinates with the State HRO, G1, and NGB for AGR policy implementation and personnel program compliance. Maintains accountability and integrity of the AGR force management system within the battalion. Requires proactive leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-tempo environment. Additional Duties as necessary in order to accomplish the mission.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Position requires a “SECRET” security clearance. Must be able to obtain as a minimum, an “interim” clearance prior to appointment to the position. Soldiers with a prior revoked or denied clearance are not eligible for either an interim or a waiver and should not apply. If tentatively selected for a position and soldier cannot be granted an interim clearance prior to appointment to the position, the offer for the position maybe revoked, Non-USA citizens are not eligible for a security clearance per DOD 5200.2R.

1. Completed NGB Form 34-1 (signed and dated).
2. Copies of last five consecutive OERs and all DA Form 1059s.
3. Current Certified or Validated copy of Officer Record Brief (ORB) or IPPSA Soldier Talen Profile.
4. Current Medical Protection System Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) Record accessible through MODS, dated within the last 6 months to be valid.
5. Last 3 years of DTMS ACFT/AFT history or DA Form 705 cards and DTMS HT/WT history printout or DA Form 5500/5501 (include all DA Forms 3349 if applicable).
6. Documentation to support all periods of duty/service creditable for retirement. Any of the following may be used DD Form 214, DA Form 1506 or NGB Forms 23A/23B.
7. Any additional information the applicant may wish to submit for consideration (i.e., Letters of Recommendation, awards, certificates, degrees, etc.).
