WHO MAY APPLY: Open to all AGR/Military Technician/Traditional Soldiers in grades O1/2LT – O3/CPT who are members of the Virginia Army National Guard (VAARNG) or eligible to become members of the VAARNG.
• Applicants must be eligible to complete 20 years of Active Federal Service before their MRD or Age 60.

• Applicant must possess or be able to possess a secret clearance and maintain government travel card.
• The start date is contingent on availability of funding from NGB.
• Must have a passing ACFT/AFT and Height & Weight within 6 months of the submission of your application. Soldier selected for this position who do not meet the above mentioned ACFT/AFT and Height & Weight requirement will need to complete an ACFT and Height & Weight prior to receiving a start date.
• Individuals must not be under Suspension of Favorable Personnel Actions (Flag).
• Must already possess or be able to successfully complete the Network+, Security+ and CCNA (Or possess higher level certifications) within 1 year of hiring.
• Must complete Department of Defense Cyber Awareness Training and maintain annual proficiency as a while serving with the G6.
• G6 members are required to maintain 24/7/365 availability to respond to no-notice Network outages or other issues.
• This assignment may require travel for training and response operations.
SPECIAL INFORMATION
• Applicant must possess or be able to possess a Top-Secret clearance and maintain government travel card.
• Officers not currently AGR and not qualified may apply for this position. However, if selected and not qualified, the Officer will not be appointed until they are AOC qualified as either a 25A or Functional Area 26.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet all selection criteria IAW AR 40-501, AR 135-18, AR 600-8-2, AR 600-60, NGR 600-5, NGR 600-200, and NGR 601-1.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Network manager for the state. Includes management of the Unclassified, Secret, and commercial enclaves of the state network. Responsible for monitoring the network at all times. Maintain all network systems within the Command Operational Readiness Assessment (CORA) guidelines. Establishes training plans and directs employees’ day-to-day operations. Perform administrative duties for the G6 NETOPS Team. Report to the G6, and provide guidance on NETOPS issues, future operations, regulation, and budget. Develops and maintains working relationships with counterparts in other states and the Regional Cyber Center- National Guard (RCC-NG). Other duties as assigned by G6 OIC.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Position requires a “SECRET” security clearance. Must be able to obtain as a minimum, an “interim” clearance prior to appointment to the position. Soldiers with a prior revoked or denied clearance are not eligible for either an interim or a waiver and should not apply. If tentatively selected for a position and soldier cannot be granted an interim clearance prior to appointment to the position, the offer for the position maybe revoked, Non-USA citizens are not eligible for a security clearance per DOD 5200.2R.

5. Last 3 years of DTMS ACFT/AFT history or DA Form 705 cards and DTMS HT/WT history printout or DA Form 5500/5501 (include all DA Forms 3349 if applicable).
6. Documentation to support all periods of duty/service creditable for retirement. Any of the following may be used DD Form 214, DA Form 1506 or NGB Forms 23A/23B.
7. Any additional information the applicant may wish to submit for consideration (i.e., Letters of Recommendation, awards, certificates, degrees, etc.).
