Referral Enlistment Program

Virginia National Guard Referral Enlistment Program

What is it?

The Referral Enlistment Program, or REP, is an incentive program that provides $500.00 to eligible individuals who assist the Virginia Army and Air National Guard in growing our strength. To earn this incentive, eligible referrers first submit qualified candidates for service in either the Virginia Army or Air National Guard. If those referred individuals successfully enlist, the $500.00 incentive will be paid to the referrer within 30 days of receiving enlistment validation.

What’s the Process?

  • Step 2: Both documents are sent to VirginiaNationalGuardReferralEnlistmentProgram@army.mil for processing with the subject line clearly marking the branch of service. For Army National Guard, the subject line must read, “SFY26 REP for VA ARMY Guard,” and for Air National Guard, the subject line must read, “SFY26 REP for VA AIR Guard.”

  • Step 3: The REP Coordinator writes a validation memo highlighting the successful enlistment of the referred, prompting the start of the payment process.

  • Step 4: Payments will arrive via check for all first time referrers sent to the address indicated on the REP Referral Submission Form. For subsequent successful referrals, referrers should fill out and submit an Electronic Funds Transfer Form, available from their recruiter.

Eligibility: Referrers must be Virginia citizens over the age of 18. They cannot be employed at or assigned to either an Army or Air National Guard recruiting force.

Payment of the REP incentive is subject to the availability of funds.
