JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — The 192nd Maintenance Squadron celebrated an assumption of command ceremony Oct. 5, 2019, at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. Lt. Col. Michael R. Gosma assumed command of the 192 MXS in front of family, leaders and squadron members.

“Lt. Col. Gosma has a wealth of experience to prepare him to take on this leadership challenge,” said Col. Catherine M. Jumper, 192nd Maintenance Group commander. “I could not be more confident in Lt. Col. Gosma, and that he has what it takes to lead the 192nd Maintenance Squadron.”

Gosma was commissioned in 2001 upon graduation from the United States Air Force Academy. He has held positions in headquarters staff and the numbered Air Force at group and squadron level logging more than 400 combat hours in the F-16 and a total of 2,300 hours in T-6, T-37, T-38, F-16 and F-35 aircraft. He also served as the chief of the Air National Guard Fifth Generation Fighter Branch, serving in plans, programs and requirements, Headquarters Air Combat Command, working in the F-35 system management office at JBLE. In this position, he was responsible for defining the USAF warfighter requirements and tactics development for the joint F-35 program.

“I am truly honored to be part of the 192nd Maintenance Squadron, there is a lot to look forward to,” said Gosma. “I look forward to meeting each and every one of [the 192 MXS members]…each of us has a story, and I look forward to knowing each of yours.”

“I look forward to learning from you,” said Gosma. “I’ll be the first one to tell you that without every single one of you and what you do day in and day out, weekend in and weekend out, we would not have an Air Force.”
