RICHMOND, Va. — The Virginia National Guard has established a resource web page with information about how to prepare for a hurricane or other hazardous weather.
“We are already more than a month into the 2019 Atlantic Hurricane Season, and everyone should be thinking about a plan to be ready if severe weather hits the commonwealth,” said Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia. “No matter where you live in Virginia, hazardous weather could impact you or your loved ones, so everyone should have a plan and emergency supplies ready. Taking care of the people who matter to us is important, so please take a few minutes to review the information and make sure you are ready.”
Williams stressed that if you live in the Hampton Roads area, you should “Know Your Zone” and the appropriate actions to take in advance of hurricane threat.
