RICHMOND, Va. — Two Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers will extend their enlistments during the Army Birthday Cake Cutting Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. June 13, 2019, at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. The Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. Mark A. Milley and the Sergeant Major Of the Army Daniel A. Dailey will host the event celebrating the U.S Army’s 244th Birthday.
The two Virginia Soldiers will join three other Guard Soldiers as well as active duty and Army Reserve Soldiers.
Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Erasmus plans to extend her enlistment for six years, and she has 18 years time in service. She is assigned to the Norfolk-based 1st Battalion, 111th Field Artillery Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
Sgt. Aspen Billow, 23, plans to extend her enlistment six years, and she has three years time in service. She is assigned to the Virginia Beach-based 1173rd Transportation Company, 1030th Transportation Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group.
The five National Guard Soldiers are extending their enlistments for a total of 24 years and have a total of 63 years of service.
