VNG Youth Program hosts summer activities

By Staff Reports JFHQ Public Affairs

The Virginia National Guard Youth Program is offering several opportunities for Virginia National Guard youth to participate in activities this summer.

Registration is currently open for a week-long Virtual Camp in July. The Virtual Camp will utilize a combination of private Facebook Group live streams, group video calls, and a mailed camp box to bring together campers all around the state in their own home. The Camp will run July 26-30, 2021, for youth age 7-12.
In addition, while they are not gathering together for a face-to-face full week of camp this summer, the Youth Program is planning to bring the camp experience to VNG youth around the state through several single-day camp events. "Camp on the Move!" are one-day events which will be located at YMCAs and 4-H Centers around the commonwealth. The camps will take place on Saturdays from June to August and are free for Virginia National Guard Youth. Each day camp varies in activities and age eligibility.

Registration is now open for all events.
