JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. –
A member of the 192nd Fighter Wing Force Support Flight was awarded the 2017 U.S. Air Force Directorate of Manpower, Personnel and Services, or A1 installation-level Force Support Reserve Component Airman of the Year.
Senior Airman Michele Dumas, personnel apprentice, was recognized by Col. Frank J. Lobash, 192nd Fighter Wing commander, during the 192nd Support Squadron commander’s call April 14, 2018, at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.
“This is a big deal,” said Lobash. “This came from the United States Air Force A1, recognizing Senior Airman Dumas for the work she’s done.”
Lobash presented Dumas his commander’s coin with a handshake. They saluted, and the Airmen in attendance responded with an enthusiastic round of applause.
“Awesome accomplishment,” said Lobash. “Like every award that any of us ever wins, it’s all the work you’ve done … it’s recognition for what your entire team has done to keep this kind of work up.”
Maj. Gregory Wacks, 192nd Force Support Flight director of personnel, said Dumas currently leads programs previously managed by more senior leaders and is spearheading new programs that are beneficial to the wing.
“Senior Airman Dumas has been and continues to be an integral member of our Force Support Flight,” said Wacks. “[She] has demonstrated time and time again her ability to provide customers and wing leadership critical support to meet the demanding mission requirements of the 192nd Fighter Wing.”
