FORT BARFOOT, Va. –
Col. James C. Shaver, Fort Barfoot garrison commander, and the Holistic Health and Fitness team hosted the inaugural Fort Barfoot Turkey Trot Nov. 22, 2023. The event focused on celebrating health and fitness, esprit de corps and bringing together families and the local community.
A total of 55 runners took part in the 5K and 10K runs, ranging in age from one to 73 years old.
The top three finishers of the 2023 Fort Barfoot 5K Turkey Trot were:

The top three finishers of the 2023 Fort Barfoot 10K were:
- Ned Ogburn - 49:24:12
- Natali Rangel - 1:00:06
- Christian Cooke - 1:01:34
With the success of this event, Fort Barfoot looks to continue building and developing good relationships with the community and will host the next Turkey Trot Nov. 27, 2024.
