FORT PICKETT, Virginia –
Maj. Gen. James W. Ring, the Adjutant General of Virginia, Col. Eric Quinn, Fort Pickett garrison commander, and retired Col. Everton E. Nevers, the Virginia Department of Military Affairs Chief of Staff, presented awards to DMA workers during a state employee recognition luncheon May 28, 2026, at Fort Pickett, Virginia.
During the presentation, DMA employees were recognized for both agency-level accomplishments as well as for service anniversaries. Ring, Quinn and Nevers each gave remarks during the event, thanking the installation’s state workers for their hard work supporting the VNG and other state and federal organizations training at the installation.
"The professionalism, the integrity, the dedication, you just don’t see those every day in other organizations,” Nevers said. “So from the bottom of my heart, I really appreciate what you do and how you do your job. Thank you for all you do.”
Fort Pickett and its staff are preparing for annual training season but DMA employees provide critical assistance to the VNG all throughout the year, Quinn explained.
“We do not do what we do without each and every one of you, and I appreciate it,” Quinn said. “Thank you.”
