RICHMOND, Va. –
The Virginia Army National Guard’s Recruiting and Retention Battalion is offering up a pizza party for the top lead-producing unit in the state as part of their Summer Slam Challenge. The contest, open to all Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers now through July 31, 2022, challenges units to see which can gather the most qualified leads over the contest period.
For leads to count toward the Summer Slam, they must be submitted through the Virginia National Guard app, available on both Apple and Android devices. Leads will be screened by the Virginia National Guard’s Recruiting and Retention Battalion. Winners will be announced and notified no later than Aug. 2, 2022, with the prize pizza party to follow during the winning unit’s August drill period.
Additional prizes will be awarded to the Soldier who submits the highest number of qualified leads during the Summer Slam.
Currently, the Virginia Army National Guard is offering sign-on bonuses of up to $20,000, student loan repayment options up to $50,000, in addition to a state tuition assistance officering of up to $20,000 per year for tuition costs. Additional benefits, including federal tuition assistance and the Montgomery GI Bill, along with low-cost health, dental and life insurance are also available.
