FORT PICKETT, Va. –
The Virginia National Guard Officer Candidate School is now accepting applications for the Winter Accelerated Program schedule for January through March 2023 at Fort McClellan, Alabama. The program is hosted by 3rd Battalion, 183rd Regional Training Institute.
Soldiers would attend the Pre-OCS drill weekends at Fort Pickett Oct. 15-16, 2022, as well as Nov. 5-6 and Dec. 3-4 to prepare for the rigors and challenges unique to OCS.
Any Soldier can attend Pre-OCS in place of unit drill with prior approval by their unit command. Each drill weekend begins at 7 a.m. on Saturday and runs through end of the day on Sunday. Lodging and meals are provided by 183rd RTI. Completion of Pre-OCS is a requirement for attending Accelerated OCS.
Minimum requirements:
- GTC Cardholder
- Possess all standard individual equipment (TA-50)
- 110+ GT score
- 90+ college credits
- Less than 42 years old at course completion
- Secret clearance
All candidates will take the ACFT during Pre-OCS and are expected to be physically prepared prior to arrival.
